• What is the Voice Caddie TL1 ?

  The Voice Caddie TL1 is a professional golf laser rangefinder designed and manufactured in Korea by a company 100% dedicated to golf. It measures distances up to 1,000 yards in 0.1 seconds, integrates V-Algorithm™ slope technology and Pin Tracer™ for instant flag locking. Voice Caddie is the official supplier of the LPGA Tour, the Symetra Tour, the LET and the LET Access Series since 2021, under a multi-year agreement.
• How does Pin Tracer™ work?

  Pin Tracer™ uses a priority target detection algorithm to identify the flag among background obstacles — trees, hills, hedges. Hold down the measurement button: the TL1 vibrates as soon as it locks precisely onto the pin. This haptic confirmation removes any doubt about the target measured, even on elevated greens or with a flag moving in the wind.
  
  What distinguishes Pin Tracer™ from competing systems is its ability to operate on all areas of the flag, including edges and the lower part. VC LAB tests show an overall performance score of 100% for the TL1, compared to 75% and 83.3% for the two tested competitors — a +17 to +25 point advantage that directly translates into fewer missed measurements on the course.

  Competitors are anonymized as "Company B" and "Company N" in VC LAB tests. Test conducted on the Voice Caddie 2022 Laser Rangefinder, at 100 and 150 yards.
• Is the TL1 approved for official competitions ?

  Yes. By disabling the slope function via the Auto Slope Switch, the TL1 fully complies with R&A / USGA rules for competitions where rangefinders are allowed. A visual indicator on the screen clearly shows the active mode (slope ON or OFF).

  It is your responsibility to ensure that the competition organizer allows the use of a rangefinder. Regulations vary depending on national federations and competition level.
• What is the V-Algorithm™ and how does it go beyond a standard slope ?

  A standard slope rangefinder uses a simple trigonometric formula to estimate adjusted distance. The V-Algorithm™ additionally integrates 10 years of real statistical data collected on the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour — average distances by club, ball flight trajectories, typical launch angles — to deliver a playing distance even closer to reality. It is the same calculation logic used by professional caddies on the world tour. Concrete example: on a hole with 16y of elevation, the V-Algorithm™ adjusts 164y line of sight to 180y playing distance; in a 22y downhill situation, it recalculates 160y line of sight to 137y playing distance — differences of 16 to 23 yards that a standard slope approximates less precisely.

• What is the difference between the TL1 and a Bushnell Tour V7 Shift ?

  The difference starts before even pressing the button: it lies in the DNA of both companies.
  
  Bushnell is an American outdoor optics manufacturer. Its rangefinders are designed for both hunting and golf — the hunting and golf ranges share the same platform. It is a solid and widely distributed product that has established itself through brand recognition.
  
  Voice Caddie is a Korean company founded by a golf-obsessed engineer, exclusively dedicated to golf. Its 120+ engineers work only on golf-related challenges. The V-Algorithm™ and Pin Tracer™ are patented in-house technologies not found in the Bushnell catalog.
  
  On a practical level:

  • The TL1 delivers a measurement speed of 0.1 s — Bushnell does not publish an equivalent figure for the V7.
  • The V-Algorithm™ provides slope distance based on real Tour data, compared to a purely geometric calculation on Bushnell devices.
  • The V7’s flagship feature — personalized club recommendations (LINK-Enabled) — requires a compatible Foresight Sports launch monitor, sold separately for several hundred euros. Without it, the feature is inoperable.
  • The TL1 includes a silicone case + deluxe leather pouch as standard; the V7 comes with a basic fabric pouch.
  • The TL1 is €80 cheaper (~€399 vs ~€479) for a very comparable core rangefinder experience according to independent press tests.

  Voice Caddie is the official supplier of the LPGA Tour, Symetra Tour and LET since 2021. This partnership was awarded after comparative evaluation of precision and reliability on tour.
• What is the real range of the TL1 on flags ?

  The maximum range is 1,000 yards on reflective targets (trees, buildings). On flags specifically, the practical range is 400 yards under normal conditions. In real golf situations, flag distances rarely exceed 300 yards — the TL1 therefore covers all playing scenarios with a comfortable margin.

  Adverse weather conditions (dense fog, heavy rain, direct backlight) may slightly reduce effective flag range.
• What is Voice Caddie’s partnership with the LPGA Tour ?

  In June 2021, the LPGA Tour officially named Voice Caddie official rangefinder supplier under a multi-year agreement. This agreement covers the LPGA Tour, the Symetra Tour, the LET (Ladies European Tour) and the LET Access Series — several hundred professional players across the women’s world tours. Voice Caddie provided each player with a rangefinder equipped with a competition mode compliant with R&A/USGA rules.
  
  That same year, Voice Caddie was the 2nd most used rangefinder brand at the 2021 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, and 55% of the official championship’s club professionals chose a Voice Caddie.

  The LPGA partnership was concluded with Voice Caddie as a brand — it covers the entire laser rangefinder lineup, including the TL1.
• Is the TL1 water resistant ?

  The TL1 is designed to withstand typical golf conditions: light drizzle, dew, light rain and morning condensation. The included dark grey silicone case improves shock protection in case of drops. It is not certified for full immersion — avoid exposing it to heavy prolonged rain without protection.
• Which battery does the TL1 use and what is its autonomy ?

  The TL1 runs on a CR2 lithium battery (3V), included in the box. Available in pharmacies, supermarkets, sports stores and all major e-commerce platforms. Under normal use (3 to 5 rounds per week), it offers several months of autonomy. Replacement is quick and requires no tools.
  
  This is a clear advantage over rangefinders with built-in rechargeable batteries — such as the Garmin Approach Z82 — whose battery cannot be replaced on the course. If it runs out mid-round, you are stuck until the next charge. With the TL1, a spare battery in your pocket is enough: 30 seconds and you are back in play, even during a tournament.

  Tip: keep a spare CR2 battery in your golf bag at the start of the season. It weighs nothing, and you will never be caught off guard.
